I have not found a way to remove the window yet without closing PotPlayer, but I will look into it. However the small ad window is actually still in the lower right corner sometimes (for PotPlayer), just invisible since it cannot show any ads as they are blocked, so if you have something to click in that corner you will notice it overlaying your main program. They do this shit all the time here in Korea, lots of Desktop software has those small ads in the lower right corner, even KakaoTalk for PC (which is disgusting), so I just blocked all ads by "host" blocking them, and neither PotPlayer nor KakaoTalk display ads (they are from the same company btw, so blocking their ad domains works for both PotPlayer and KakaoTalk). Again, just only that one exe is left in my PotPlayer folder. In fact such filter is already in place many years ago, as I never change the custom installation folder I chose back then. The remaining lone exe is blocked with the Firewall's outbound. I may even had added such files for auto-deletion with my cleaners, in case I forgot to manually delete them. Then I delete the unneeded extra exe's and other bloat files and dll's.

Not sure but 7-Zip or WinRAR might be able to do so as well. So I just extract them using the open-source Universal Extractor. At VideoHelp's pages for PotPlayer and KMPlayer, both are labeled with Freeware and Ads. PotPlayer and KMPlayer typically have embedded adware or spyware in their Setups and they don't have official zipped/archived counterparts I believe. I guess I'll use it as a replacement, as my current one has the "ads" label from the archive itself. I don't want to download the other Setup if indeed they are just the same, to save internet data of course. It was simply PotPlayerSetup64.exe, just above PotPlayerSetup64-8.exe. So I picked the highest one without the "ads" label. In fact I just now downloaded an older version myself.

  • For PotPlayer: PotPlayer Old Versions Downloads.
  • After reading a while here, I realized that there are some issues with the latest version of the player, along with ads.Īt VideoHelp, is where I download previous/older versions of media software including PotPlayer.
