One Wednesday, June 22 everyone will give their talks and display their poster.Įlementary Number Theory: Primes, Congruences, and Secrets, Springer, 2008. A proposed topic will be due no later than Monday May 23. An incomplete list of possible topics will be distributed on May 16. The assignment will be to pepare a small poster/Powerpoint presentation together with a 5 minute talk on a number theory topic that you will research during the semester. "Research Project" - Since the semester is short and the scope of number theory is so wide, I'm going to give everyone a chance to learn about one extra topic and share it with the class.Students in other options and also students in other departments should consult with their advisors before registering for this course.
